Football certainly isn’t on the mind of Green Bay Packers tight end Jermichael Finley right now, nor is it on the the Green Bay Packers. However, the team, sad and inappropriate as it may be to say, needs to figure out their next move in the wake of Finely’s devastating and scary injury.

Whatever move they make, it’ll most likely need to be for a large remainder of the season as it’s unlikely they’ll know the playing status of Finley for weeks, according to USA Today’s Tom Pelissero:

"However, it’ll probably be weeks before #Packers know if/when Finley can get back on field. Still under evaluation right now."

Finley, who suffered a devastating helmet-to-helmet hit during the Packers win over the Cleveland Browns on Sunday spent the night in a local ICU, where he remains as of this morning. Thankfully Finley has movement in all of his extremities and surgery is currently looking unlikely.

Our best wishes to Finley as he recovers from injury.
