Had you told New York Giants fans prior to the start of the season that they’d be clamoring for the return of Brandon Jacobs, they’d have laughed uncontrollably. Now, it’s not so funny.

After looking horrifically pathetic on the ground in Monday’s ‘win’ (I feel dirty calling it that) against the Minnesota Vikings, the Giants are hopeful that Jacobs (who they recently signed off the street) will be back for Week 8 after missing Monday’s contest with a hamstring injury.

Unfortunately, it appears as if nobody knows if that will be the case:

"Tom Coughlin said he has no idea whether Brandon Jacobs will be able to return next week or not. #NYG"

Jacobs himself said he is ‘praying’ that he’ll be able to return, but with a bye in Week 9, it’s possible the Giants may hold him out just to make sure he’s healthy come Week 10.

If he does miss time, Peyton Hillis will likely be the featured back in Week 8 against the Philadelphia Eagles.
