Dallas Cowboys COO thinks Tony Romo, LeBron James share similar criticism

While I’m not the biggest Tony Romo fan, I’ll be the first to admit the guy gets a mass amount of unfair criticism. But when he’s compared to LeBron James by Dallas Cowboys COO, that you begin to realize why he gets the grief he does – and it’s not even Romo’s fault.

Speaking to SiriusXM NFL Radio, Dallas Cowboys COO Stephen Jones compared the quarterback to the Miami Heat superstar, suggesting they’re very similar in regards to the criticism they received:

"You look at just the history of athletes in general, whether it is a LeBron James or anybody, there’s a lot of criticism until you put those championship rings on their fingers."

I understand where Jones was attempting to go with this, because LeBron did have some playoff failures early in his career but he was also extremely young and playing with incredibly sub-par talent around him. Once both of those things changed, he certainly had no problem putting rings on his fingers.

It’s a comparison that might look good on the surface, but really, it’s not that accurate.
