LaMichael Fanning suspended by Alabama for ‘a violation of team rules or whatever’
By Stu White
You probably remember Alabama Crimson Tide defensive lineman LaMichael Fanning from the suplex he delivered to Missouri Tigers running back Russel Hansbrough last season (those in need of a non-picture reminder can watch the clip here.) Now Fanning, who has three tackles on the season in limited playing time, has been suspended, and it’s for the best possible reason.
Take it away, Saban: “LaMichael Fanning has been suspended from the team indefinitely for a violation of team rules or whatever, so he’s just not around” (Anniston Star).
There are a couple potential takeaways from this news. On one hand, you could focus on how Fanning is the 11th Crimson Tide player in the last eight months to be suspended. That’s the C.J. Mosley approach:
"Well, I guess guys still haven’t learned their lessons. We had a few guys have some disciplinary actions at the beginning of the season and during the offseason. When you mess up, you have to suspend guys."
Or you could focus on how Saban Bot is slowly learning humor. A snarky Saban Bot seems like an awesome Saban Bot to me.
