It’s been a night full of hard hitting action in the game between Boise State and BYU. The hard hits have also lead to an ejection as Boise’s Dillon Lukehart got the heave after he was ejected for targeting on an incomplete pass.

Lukehart, who was posted up in the end zone locked in on the BYU wide receiver and laid the boom.

It was a well timed hit for Lukehart, who clearly was the driving force behind the blown touchdown as the BYU receiver looked to have it secured prior to the hit, but the jarring knocked it loose.

Powerful hit or not, the referees weren’t having it as the tossed Lukehart and maintained their ruling after reviewing it on the replay.

Clearly, Lukehart had lined the BYU receiver up and went helmet-to-helmet, so by rule, he was clearly toast.

He’ll also miss the first half of Boise’s game against Colorado State next weekend as well thanks to the ejection.
