Despite having one of the best wide receivers in the NFL (if not the best), the Detroit Lions need some help at the position. They’ve been long rumored to be a potential destination for Josh Gordon and/or Kenny Britt, two of the more talented receivers on the market, but according to CBS Sports the Lions will not be making a play for either.

"Detroit has been seeking to add a receiver since this summer, even before Nate Burleson got hurt, but given the issues they have had in the past off the field, taking on character risks like Britt or Gordon is not in their plans, sources said."

It was rumored a few weeks ago that the Tennessee Titans were asking for a third round pick in exchange for Britt, a price no team will pay while the Browns themselves had an elevated asking price for Josh Gordon. Gordon is certainly the more talented of the team, but teams of course are leery of offering such value for a player who is literally one strike away from a potential season ban.
