Despite an admirable performance by Case Keenum vs the Kansas City Chiefs two weeks ago, Houston Texans Head Coach Gary Kubiak wants Matt Schaub to continue being the starting quarterback. It will be harder for Schaub to keep his starting job going forward if this report is true that he has torn ligaments in his ankle:

Maybe that’s what  Texans quarterbacks coach Karl Dorrell knew when he said before the team’s previous game versus the Chiefs that the best-case scenario for the team would involve Keenum putting himself in position to challenge  Schaub for the starting job.

Schaub was ruled out for Week 7 and is uncertain for Week 9 following the team’s bye as they take on The Colts on Sunday night football.
