NFL trade rumors: Carolina Panthers should trade for Hakeem Nicks

The NFL trading deadline is one day away, and a number of teams are one or two players away at key positions from possibly taking the next step. For some, that next step is becoming a playoff contender. For others, that next step is becoming a legitimate Super Bowl contender.

The Carolina Panthers are still a year or two and a number of players away from becoming the latter, but they could be one player away from ascending into the postseason for the first time in the Cam Newton-era. Another receiver to compliment and eventually replace the aging Steve Smith is that one player, and teams will likely be making offers for New York Giants Hakeem Nicks and what the  want in return.

As far as WRs on the trade block at the deadline, Nicks id probably the cheapest the best option available and with the Giants sitting barely afloat at 2-6, big changes possibly on the way there, and Nicks is set to become and unrestricted free agent at the end of the season.

Ted Ginn has stretched the field or as Rivera says, blown the top off of coverages, to say Ginn has not put Cam’s arm to use is a ignorant statement considering he is the third receiver and has nearly identical numbers as the the number one receiver. Do some research man.

I fully agree with you, we are just starting to utilize the players we have why throw in another. We could use a good O line men, but we can pick one up next draft season as well. Go Panthers.

Giants trading nicks isn’t gonna help much if the offensive line don’t block well enough for Eli or the New running back. It’s like the Yankees trying to win in the end of their season with no pitching. Also Eli and nicks had a great thing with the behind the shoulder pass which isn’t gonna happen with the new guy.

Unless I am missing something, Ginn has filled the open spot. And doing GREAT!! That would be money best spent elsewhere.
