Seattle Seahawks All-Pro Stanford grad Richard Sherman went down near the end of the third quarter on Monday Night Football with what appeared to be an upper body injury, which caused Seahawks fans to temporarily hold their breath.

The Defensive Player of the Year candidate ran into one of his teammates and he immediately dropped to the ground and rolled around in pain.

At first, the injury didn’t look good, but Seahawks fans immediately received some positive news.

Sherman was able to get to his feet and leave under his own power, with trainers quickly leaving his side.

Disaster averted.

It was hard to see exactly what happened, but Sherman likely just had the wind knocked out of him or was hit below the belt. He reacted like a man who was in a lot of pain, but it was good to see that he was able to pop right back up.

Sherman is one of the top defenders in the league, so it would have been a crushing loss for the Seahawks if he would have been forced to leave the very close game.

Luckily, he’s good to go.
