Jared Allen is ‘proud to still be a Viking’
As the trade deadline drew near on Tuesday afternoon, it looked more and more likely that the Minnesota Vikings were going to deal star defensive end Jared Allen.
The Vikings were supposedly in talks with both the Seattle Seahawks and the Denver Broncos. The talks, especially with the Seahawks, seemed to really heat up this afternoon, but in the end, the Vikings couldn’t come to a deal with either squad. The Vikings reportedly were looking for a second round pick in return for Allen.
Despite following the rumors throughout the day, there are no hard feelings between Allen and the Vikings. In fact, he seems to be in high spirits.
“Proud to still be a Viking,” Allen told Jay Glazer of Fox Sports via text message. “I watched all the trade stuff like everyone else. It is a part of this business. 100% committed to turning this season around.”
Allen has 4.5 sack this season.
The Vikings will return to action Sunday when they travel to Dallas to take on the Cowboys.
