Knicks' Metta World Peace rode subway to play in first game

New York Knick’s newest star, Metta World Peace, pulled a Jay Z. On his way to Madison Square Garden. Jay Z routinely rides the subway to the Barclays Center in Brooklyn for concerts. He even was seen on video of the trip chatting up an old lady on the subway who asked if he was famous. She clearly noticed the camera phones in everyone’s hand.

Newsday reporter Jim Baumbach documented the ride on Twitter:

Why is this a story or being told? So fucking what, he rode the subway. Lots and lots of everyday people ride the subway! What makes him special enough to have a story about his ride on a subway??

Because people click on it to read it. Like you did.

But I think the point is in your comment, “lots and lots of everyday people” ride the subway. When someone who is deemed a ‘celebrity’ or a star athlete does it, they aren’t everyday people.

He is no celebrity, he’s a man who plays pro ball, nothing makes this news to me. Sorry.
