The man accused of killing Adrian Peterson’s son, Joseph Robert Patterson, has been released on bail. Patterson was charged with second-degree murder, manslaughter, aggravated assault and aggravated batter in the death of Tyrese Robert Ruffin.

From the Associated Press:

"The man charged with killing the 2-year-old son of Minnesota Vikingsrunning back Adrian Peterson has bonded out of a South Dakota jail. The Minnehaha County Jail in Sioux Falls says 27-year-old Joseph Robert Patterson is no longer housed there. His attorney, Tim Rensch, confirmed Patterson’s release and says there are no conditions on it. But Rensch says Patterson plans to stay in the area and defend himself."

Patterson’s bail was originally $750,000, but on Monday he had his bond reduced to $75,000. With the help of a bails bondsman that becomes a drastically smaller and more manageable amount.

Peterson played a game the same weekend he found out about the murder. Peterson had just recently found out that Tyrese was his son and didn’t get the chance to know him.

Peterson’s son, Adrian Jr, who was famously photographed at Vikings camp with his father was not the victim and is alright. Peterson and the Vikings haven’t commented on Patterson’s releasee.
