The trade deadline came and went without disgruntled New York Giants wide receiver Hakeem Nicks being moved. His teammate, offensive lineman David Diehl, doesn’t think that means Nicks is here to stay. He thinks the Nicks coming back next year.

“I don’t see it happening,” Diehl said.

He added: “I would love to see it, he is like a brother to me, he lived with me when he first got drafted by the Giants because we have the same agent. So I knew him coming out of college. But for the sheer fact that we just paid Victor Cruz, there is a lot of money to be had and Hakeem Nicks is a No. 1 receiver and someone is going to pay him that money.”

It is significant that they share the same agent, there might be some insider information there. The Giants could franchise Nicks to keep him from leaving but that will cost them over $10 million. He might get more than that in a long-term deal, some team will throw money at him.
