Well the ball will finally be placed back in the hands of Christian Ponder after Matt Cassel and Josh Freeman failed.

Cassel and the Vikings were able to beat the Pittsburgh Steelers in England a couple weeks ago, but since then things haven’t gone their way. They’re currently on a three game losing streak, losing to the Carolina Panthers, New York Giants and Green Bay Packers since that victory against Pittsburgh.

With Cassel under center, he threw for a total of 489 yards with three touchdowns and two interceptions. Freeman on the other hand is under 200 yards with one interception. His 2013 season total currently sits at 761 passing yards with two touchdowns and four interceptions.

During the three game loss, Ponder seemed to be somewhat frustrated and will now have another shot at getting Minnesota back on track.

Christian performed well during the last part of the season which resulted in a Wild Card berth after beating the Green Bay Packers in the final game of the regular season.

Ponder is going to be looking to perform the same way in hopes of sending Freeman and Cassel packing their bags and looking for a new team this off-season.

Christian Ponder and the Minnesota Vikings go head to head with the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday.

He’s 73-121 for 836 passing yards with just two touchdowns and five interceptions this season with the Vikings at the bottom of the NFC North with a record of 1-6.
