Right about now, Minnesota Vikings quarterback Christian Ponder might be wishing he didn’t get the call to start Week 9 – that’s assuming he can even recall where he’s at after taking a devastating blow from the Dallas Cowboys.
As Ponder dropped back into his own end zone, the Dallas Cowboys’ rush pummeled through the Vikings’ offensive line and just obliterated the Vikings’ signal caller, resulting in a fumble which the Cowboys scooped up for a quick touchdown. Even worse for Ponder? He didn’t have the ball when he was hammered as it was stripped just moments earlier. Rough couple seconds, though, at least he has Mrs. Samantha Ponder at home to nurse him back to health.
The fumble and touchdown gave the Cowboys a 20-10 lead though the Vikings signal caller quickly redeemed himself moments later.
Somehow still breathing after that hit, Ponder lead his Vikings down the field before hitting his tight end Kyle Rudolph for a thundering touchdown, bringing the score back to a three-point Dallas Cowboys lead.
