While the day hasn’t started out so hot for the New Orleans Saints, who are now without both Darren Sproles and Marques Colston, they do have some things to cheer about – especially this amazing catch from wide receiver Robert Meechem.
As the Saints were driving against the New York Jets’ defense, Meachem ran a solid route though quarterback Drew Brees, who was under pressure, threw the pass a bit behind Meachem. No problem though – at least – not initially as Meachem appeared to stop in plenty of time to be in position for the catch.
However, as the ball neared, it hit Meachem in the chest resulting in the ball going on a comedic road trip.
After bouncing off Meachem’s chest, the ball then hit his finger tips twice before hitting the fingers of a Jets defender, launching the pigskin to the top of his helmet. After the ball bounced off the lid of the Jets defender, it then bounced on Meachem’s helmet – this after he had already collided with a Jets player.
Needless to say, pretty impressive.
