LeBron James’ popularity took a hit when he left the Cleveland Cavaliers for the Miami Heat. His first season in Miami was plagued with boos and anti-James sentiment. Over time and after a couple of Championships, the Heat and James are regaining popularity.

James looks like he is going to do his best to offend NBA fan bases on an individual basis starting with the Toronto Raptors.

The Heat were in Toronto and winning by nine points with about a minute-and-a-half left in the game. They rebounded a shot that never touched the rim and James got the ball and went up court. He crosses the mid court line and hangs out in that general area trying to take time off the clock. He then does a weird little dance. It starts off lo0king like he is going to do some Muhammad Ali foot shuffling or some cross-over dribbling between his legs.

Ultimately, he ends up doing a weird Ashlee Simpson-esque Irish gig kind of move. He then drove to the lane and kicked it out to Ray Allen, who sunk a three.

There are two schools of thought here that I’m sure we’ll see. James is just having fun, why can’t he have fun? Or that James is disrespecting his opponents and the game.

Which side do you land on?
