We’re getting closer to WrestleMania XXX, the 30 year anniversary of the pay-per-view event. New Orleans will host wrestling’s biggest annual event in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome on April 6th, 2014. This marks the first time in three years the event will be indoors, the past two WrestleManias were held in outdoor venues.
WrestleMania is wrestling’s equivalent of the SuperBowl. It is a week-long event that draws fans from all over the world. Like there SuperBowl, there are always activities to do in the build up to the event. For instance, WrestleMania Axxess is a four-day interactive fan-festival where you can meet current and former superstars. WrestleMania Axxess will be held at Ernest N. Morial Convention Center.
The weekend also includes the WWE Hall of Fame induction ceremony on Saturday night and WWE’s Monday Night Raw is also always in the same city where WrestleMania is. The Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and Monday Night Raw will be held at the New Orleans Arena. Last year, Dolph Ziggler cashed in his Money in the Bank contract on Raw the night after WrestleMania.
Things are starting to heat up in the WWE. After the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view we’ve seen some interesting developments in the WWE. Kane returned and is rocking a suit and playing a corporate role. Randy Orton defeated Daniel Bryan, with some help from Shawn Michaels, for the vacant WWE Championship.
The Big Show has forced Triple H to give him a WWE Championship title shot against Orton at Survivor Series. All of this is setting up an incredible run to WrestleMania.
