The Houston Texans have struggled with Matt Schaub under center this season. When injuries forced Case Keenum into the roster, it looks like they might have found their quarterback of the future. That could build some tension between Keenum and Schaub in the locker room, but Keenum is praising Schaub.

He couldn’t be a better guy through the whole thing,” Keenum said, via the Houston Chronicle. “I’m extremely proud to know him. He’s still giving advice without me asking, just being there for me for whatever I need. I can’t say enough about him. He’s one of the best guys I know. I’m really fortunate to have him in our quarterback room.”

Keenum said that Schaub is there for him “every day. It’s in between plays in practices, on the sideline, watching film in the morning, all that stuff. It’s constant.”

Keenum had the Texans in a position to win on Sunday Night Football last weekend against the Indianapolis Colts. They took a 21-3 lead into the locker room when tragedy struck and head coach Gary Kubiak was rushed to the hospital. That definitely weighed on the hearts of the Texans in the second half and played a role in their loss.

In the first half Keenum threw 3 touchdown passes to Andre Johnson, one for 62 yards and another for 41 yards.
