The traveling ESPN College GameDay show likes to pick out the top game of the week and set up on campus for their pre-game show. There were two match-ups involving Top 10 teams this week, but both were on Thursday night. That leaves No. 1 Alabama hosting No. 9 LSU as the marquee game of the Saturday schedule.

A couple of years ago this match up was called the “Game of the Century” and then the two teams met later in the year in the BCS National Championship game. This game might not have the luster it did that year, LSU brings two losses into the game, but it is becoming a big rivalry.

“This is not the kind of game that anybody could not get excited about playing in,” Alabama head coach Nick Saban said.

LSU head coach Les Miles is confident in his team heading into this game as well.

“I can tell you that our guys are in college football for these kind of games,” Miles said. “We look forward to playing in them. It’s a great opportunity for all. Any time you line up against Alabama, there’s a rivalry. There’s national prestige.

“I think the greatest compliment that we can pay an opponent is our best efforts, and certainly Alabama will get that.”

In the 2012 season, Corso correctly picked Alabama to beat LSU on the road. In 2011, Corso correctly picked LSU to beat Alabama on the road. In 2008, Corso correctly picked Alabama to beat LSU on the road. Pay attention to Corso’s pick, he is on a bit of a streak in this match up.
