Heading into another tough fantasy football week with four teams on a bye, fantasy owners are scrambling to fill in their lineup. Injuries always make finalizing your lineup tricky too, so here’s the latest on the injuries based on practice reports through Thursday. Players marked as “green light” are expected to play and can be used as normal despite their injury issues while there’s a brief explanation for those unsure to play or out for this week.
QB
Aaron Rodgers-Green Bay Packers: Rodgers is reportedly targeting week 13 for his return. If he was your starting QB, good luck trying to survive until then.
Jay Cutler-Chicago Bears: Cutler is questionable but expected to return for Chicago as they take on the Lions in an NFC North divisional clash.
Michael Vick-Philadelphia Eagles: Vick has been ruled out and may not get his starting spot back with the emergence of Nick Foles.
E.J. Manuel-Buffalo Bills: Manuel expects to return for the Bills as they travel to Pittsburgh. He’s a low-end QB2 after Tom Brady thrashed the Steelers secondary last week.
RB
Reggie Bush-Detroit Lions: Green light (knee)
Arian Foster-Houston Texans: Foster hasn’t practiced this week and will likely miss this week’s game. His prognosis long-term isn’t great, so make sure you have contingencies in place to replace him.
Darren McFadden-Oakland Raiders: McFadden is expected to be out this week making Rashad Jennings a nice play against the Giants.
Zac Stacy-St. Louis Rams: Green light (ankle)
Giovani Bernard-Cincinnati Bengals: Green light (ribs)
DeMarco Murray-Dallas Cowboys: Green light (knee)
Darren Sproles-New Orleans Saints: Green Light (concussion)
Trent Richardson-Indianapolis Colts: Even though T-Rich hasn’t practiced this week, he’s expected to play this week. Friday will be an important day for him to at least get in a limited session.
Andre Brown-New York Giants: Green light (leg)
Ben Tate-Houston Texans: Green light (ribs)
DeAngelo Williams-Carolina Panthers: Green light (quad)
Rashard Mendenahll-Arizona Cardinals: Mendenhall is questionable but should return to his timeshare with Andre Ellington after resting through the team’s bye week.
WR
Dez Bryant-Dallas Cowboys: Green light (back)
Victor Cruz-New York Giants: Green light (neck)
Cecil Shorts-Jacksonville Jaguars: Shorts hasn’t practiced this week, but is in a great spot if he starts as expected Sunday since Justin Blackmon is suspended.
Marques Colston-New Orleans Saints: Colston missed last week and had a limited practice Thursday. He’s an iffy start this week against the Cowboys on Sunday Night Football, so I’d look elsewhere if possible.
Roddy White-Atlanta Falcons: White is expected to return this week, but he’s in a brutal matchup against the Seahawks and could still be hampered. He’s a risky start, but if he was dropped in your league you may want to add him since he could pay off later in the season.
Greg Little-Cleveland Browns: Green light (shoulder)
Eddie Royal-San Diego Chargers: Royal hasn’t practiced and will probably be a gametime decision against the Broncos.
Robert Woods-Buffalo Bills: Woods probably won’t play this week with a bad ankle injury
Marlon Brown-Baltimore Ravens: Green light (finger)
Miles Austin-Dallas Cowboys: Austin is doubtful for this week and will likely miss the game leaving more targets for Terrance Williams and Cole Beasley.
TE
Jimmy Graham-New Orleans Saints: Green light (foot)
Julius Thomas-Denver Broncos: Green light (ankle)
Jermaine Gresham-Cincinnati Bengals: Gresham didn’t practice Thursday and could miss Sunday’s game. His absence would be a huge boost to Tyler Eifert who would get all the TE passes this week if Gresham is unable to play.
