This week the ESPN College GameDay set headed to Tuscaloosa for the match up between No. 13 LSU and No. 1 Alabama. LSU has two losses and with a slew of one-loss and undefeated teams left, you think they’re out of the BCS National Championship contention. The Tigers wouldn’t mind ruining Alabama’s National Championship hopes.

One of the greatest Saturday traditions is watching the ESPN College GameDay show end with Lee Corso’s headgear pick. Interesting little side note, Lee Corso is currently on a 5-week streak of correct guesses.

The last time he got one wrong? He picked LSU to beat Georgia and was wrong.

This game has become something of a rivalry, and they’ve frequently featured two high-ranked teams lately. That means Lee Corso has been at this game, in the regular season, to pick a winner the last two years, and three times since 2008. Corso has correctly predicted all 3 winners in those games.

He also was there in 2005, and correctly picked that game. In the first season of head gear picks in 1996, Corso also correctly choose Alabama to beat LSU. Basically, Lee Corso has never been wrong in this game with the exception of their BCS National Championship matchup in 2011.
