Colin Kaepernick and the San Francisco 49ers offense are about to get a little boost. After missing the first half of the season while recovering from a torn ACL at the end of last year, wide receiver Mario Manningham finally appears poised to return to the 49ers line up in Week 10 against the Carolina Panthers.

San Francisco activated Manningham from the physically-unable to perform list earlier this week, which led to some speculation that he may still be a week away from returning to the field.

However, when the injury report for this week’s match up with the Panthers was released, Manningham was not listed which means he is good to go in will take the field in one fashion or another.

Just how big of a role Manningham will have in his return remains to be seen, but his presence and ability to stretch the field could still open up the passing game in a way that the 49ers have not been able to see with him on the sidelines.
