The Dallas Cowboys were looking to beat the New Orleans Saints and keep the momentum building. Instead, they slipped behind and never recovered and fell to 5-5 and .500 again.

The New Orleans Saints were holding a slim 14-10 lead over the Dallas Cowboys as the second quarter wound down. The Saints weren’t content taking a 4-point lead into the half however. With a littler over a minute and a half left in the game, Drew Brees threw a three-yard touchdown pass to running back Darren Sproles.

That gave the Saints a commanding 21-10 lead, but the Saints defense stopped the Cowboys and got the ball back with about a minute still left in the half. The Saints then marched 75 yards down the field and scored another touchdown. This one was a 28-yard pass to Sproles again. Sproles really showed off his speed on this one as he swerves through traffic and blocks.

That really took the wind out of the Cowboys sails. Mark Ingram added a 4-yard touchdown run in the third quarter and the Cowboy’s Terrance Williams added a touchdown as well. In the fourth quarter the Saints added another pair of touchdowns including a 52-yard touchdown pass to Kenny Stills.

Brees finished the game with 392 yards passing and 4 touchdowns. Mark Ingram had a huge game carrying the ball 14 times for 145 yards. He benefitted from the Saints abandoning the pass basically with a huge lead.
