Midway through the first half, the San Francisco 49ers have a 9-0 lead over the Carolina Panthers. The 49ers were held to their third field goal of the day on their latest drive, but it was three points that they never should have had.

49ers tight end Vernon Davis took a pass from quarterback Colin Kaepernick, when he was hit by a Panthers defender and put the ball on the turf for the Panthers to recover.

Unfortunately, the refs overturned the ruling and it was ruled an incomplete pass.

After the play, however, Davis was taken off of the field and eventually helped by to the locker room by the team’s medical staff. As it turns out, Davis is being evaluated for a possible concussion.

The 49ers need to hope that Davis is okay and able to return, or else their offense will take a significant step backwards as they attempt to get past another tough challenge.
