Ed Reed back with the Baltimore Ravens? Not likely, as it’s being reported that the Ravens will not put a waiver claim in on the eventual Hall of Fame safety:

"Attention, Ravens fans — your favorite team will not be making a waivers claim for S Ed Reed, per league source."

Reed, if you had not heard, was released by the Houston Texans early Tuesday morning which our Mike Dyce covered here.

The nine-time Pro Bowler had spent his entire career with the Baltimore Ravens, who drafted him 24th overall in the 2002 NFL Draft before departing in free agency this past Summer for the Houston Texans. It was a marriage that never got off the ground though as Reed was injured in training camp and has looked like a shell of his former self.

There’s no word on if any other team around the league is interested in claiming Reed off waivers, though, doing so won’t be cheap as the claiming team would be on the hook for $412,000 and an additional $62,500 for every game Reed is active.
