The Buffalo Bills are in the midst of a three-game losing streak and have lost five of the last six games they’ve played. They’re looking for everywhere to find something to blame this on, and now they’re eyeing the NFL scheduling. Apparently the Bills have been repeatedly playing teams with extra rest.

In Week Three the Bills played the Jets, who played on Thursday night getting an extra few days of rest. On Sunday, they play the Jets again and they’re coming off a bye week. That isn’t the only example. The Bills also played the Saints and Dolphins, both coming out of bye weeks.

When they played the Bengals, they had 10 days rest because of a Thursday night game. When they play the Jaguars later this season, they’ll becoming off 10 days rest following a Thursday night game as well.

“We certainly have talked to the league about this because it’s been disappointing where teams are coming off a bye or a long week,” CEO Russ Brandon said, via the team’s website. “This is the second time we’re playing the Jets coming off a Thursday night game and now we’re playing them coming off a bye. We lead the league in amount of games coming off of extra time or a bye week. It is a very, very tough job what they have in scheduling with all the different things that go into the formula and the stadium commitments and TV schedules, but it’s certainly something that needs to be addressed.”

They might have a point.
