Although Nate Burleson has been practicing for the last week plus, that doesn’t mean he’s healthy enough to  play in a game as it’s expected that Burleson will sit against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 11, this according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter:

"Lions do not plan to play WR Nate Burleson on Sunday vs. PITT despite fact that he is practicing and feels recovered from broken arm."

Burleson of course came out a few weeks back and said he ‘wasn’t going to pull an RGIII‘ by returning too early and recently reiterated that fact, suggesting that the team was doing well without him and that he wasn’t needed right now.

And frankly, he’s right as the Lions who sit at 6-3 have been doing just fine without the wide receiver and can afford to wait for him to fully recover so there is no risk of further re-injury.

It’s likely Burleson will return for the Lions’ Week 12 matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, though, could be on a snap count.
