Power forward Cliff Alexander has committed to the Kansas Jayhawks. Regarded as a consensus Top 5 player in the 2014 national class, Alexander is a major candidate for Mr. Basketball in Illinois and should also be a McDonald’s All-American this season. He picked the Jayhawks over the Illinois Fighting Illini.

Alexander visited Lawrence again this weekend for an unofficial visit and has been to Kansas three times since June. Part of the reason is Alexander’s girlfriend plays for the Kansas women’s program, but Alexander also enjoys the campus and has a good relationship with head coach Bill Self and lead recruiter and former Illinois assistant Jerrance Howard.

Here is a brief excerpt of his ESPN Scouting Report:

"Alexander is a big mobile post that is a terror on the class. He snatches everything that comes off in his area with force and is not afraid to put his body on his opponent. He also was active and blocked shots in and out of his area. Alexander did a great job with screen and roll situations as well. He set wide screens and rolled hard to the rim which he dunk when he received the pocket pass. He also showed a nice hook over his left shoulder. Alexander ran the floor and played with good urgency at all times."
