South Carolina defensive end Jadeveon Clowney is ready to make the jump to the NFL. He is considered to be a Top 10 draft prospect, and there is a lot of hype around him at the next level.  According to Yahoo Sports reporter Rand Getlin via Twitter, Clowney is leaning towards signing with Jay Z and his sports agency “Roc Nation Sports.”

Clowney would join other notable athletes like New York Yankees slugger Robinson Cano and Oklahoma City Thunder’s Kevin Durant.

From Getlin, via Yahoo Sports:

"Clowney has already been publicly linked to Jay Z, whose given name is Shawn Carter. A July report in “Inside The League” indicated Clowney was “smitten” with the superstar rapper-turned-sports agent and that the two had been in “regular contact under the guise of the rapper recruiting him for his marketing potential.”The day the report surfaced, Clowney posted a picture on his Instagram account of an article discussing the report with the caption, “You kno we about to turn up. Dream coming true.”South Carolina’s compliance office looked into Clowney’s contact with Jay Z and Roc Nation Sports and later announced the defensive end hadn’t engaged in any impermissible behavior."

Clowney has has a down year. It was further marred by a scandal involving him and coach Steve Spurrier and who decided he wouldn’t play. Still, despite all that the NFL still is intrigued by him and he’ll be off the board early on the first night of the NFL Draft.

Clowney is 6’6″, 275 pound nightmare for offensive players. HIs one-jarring hit on Michigan running back Vincent Smith in the Outback Bowl has been a regular highlight on college football reels. In Clowney’s sophomore season he recored 23.5 tackles for a loss, 13 sacks and three forced fumbles. This season he is falling short with just two sacks and one forced fumbles through 8 games played.
