The Denver Broncos came out tonight against the Kansas City Chiefs tonight to make a statement that they’re the best team in the AFC West, not their undefeated opponents.

Well, because of the Broncos, the Chiefs may no longer be undefeated as Denver is currently up 27-0 with under 10 minutes to go in the fourth quarter.

But, that doesn’t mean that the Chiefs haven’t been given some breaks that they’ve failed to capitalize on.

Wes Welker hasn’t had the easiest night of anyone on the field tonight for the Broncos. The Chiefs came out with one gameplan apparently, and that was to physically punish the veteran wide receiver, and they’ve done exactly that.

On this play, Welker grabbed the pass from Peyton Manning before he was sandwiched hard by the Chiefs defense, causing him to lose the ball on the play:

Welker has indeed taken some stiff shots tonight, so it was almost as if something like this was inevitable at some point.

Still, though, it looks like Welker will have the last laugh as the Broncos as a team continue to roll.
