Redskins offensive tackle Trent Williams claims that the referees were talking trash to him during the game. Specifically, he claims that they called him “fat ass garbage.” Apparently Williams was irate when venting and some of his teammates encouraged him to stop his tirade. He wouldn’t be quiet because it is a player league and it is wrong.

It certainly is an unusual story. Normally the refs are the peace keepers, not the trash talkers. Or more commonly, the referees are the target of the verbal abuse.
