The Minnesota Vikings lost to the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday. Running back Adrian Peterson played despite a nagging groin injury, but it looked like it clearly was bothering him. Peterson carried the ball 21 times for only 65 yards and appeared to lack the speed and agility he usually displays.

“Actually, it was bothering me a lot,” Peterson said, via Tom Powers of the St. Paul Pioneer Press. “There were a couple plays in the first half, oh man, I knew if I was able to explode the way I normally do I could have gotten some big chunks, even taken it to the house.”

Peterson won’t sit out to give it time to heal either, but you could probably expect to see him miss a day or two of practice or to be a limited participant this week.

“I’m going to try to get my rest that I need,” he said. “I’m probably going to do it this week (in practice). Just push it to Sunday. In my mind, I really don’t know how things will turn out deep into the week. Fortunately, I came out and was able to play some. I’ll try and do the same thing (next game).”
