On a play that had both Denver Broncos fans and countless Fantasy Football owners holding their breath, tight end Julius Thomas suffered an awkward hit that had his and leg and knee go straight up before he went to the ground.  Thomas was able to walk off of the field under his own power without too much issue but it was still concerning.  The Broncos have given everyone reason to breath a sigh of relief as the injury suffered was just called a sprain and Thomas is listed as day to day.

Hyperextending a knee like that cannot feel good, but it could have been much worse.  Thomas has been integral to the Broncos passing attack this season and gives them size in the middle of the field that helps to draw attention away from players like DeMaryius Thomas, Wes Welker and Eric Decker.

The Broncos can certainly survive without Thomas as they are 9-1, but they are significantly more dangerous when he is out there and available.  To this point, Thomas is leading the team with 10 touchdown receptions out of his 45 receptions for 590 yards.  The Broncos would definitely like to have him as they prepare to play on the road in Foxboro against the New England Patriots this week before going to Arrowhead to play the Chiefs again.
