After an ugly loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves, the Cleveland Cavaliers held a players only meeting.  There have been reports that that meeting got heated, particularly between Kyrie Irving and Dion Waiters.  Some have gone as far as speculating that there were a physical altercation.

Those rumors only intensified when Waiters did not travel with the team for their road game against the Washington Wizards in what was called an “illness”.  Today, Waiters, Irving, Tristan Thompson and C.J. Miles came out adamant that nothing like that occurred and the meeting was positive.

"Waiters went as far as saying “I know what happened. It’s some people’s job to think stuff happened that didn’t.”  He added later, “We’re a family.”"

The Cavaliers were able to come out and beat the Washington Wizards in overtime on Saturday in no small part due to Irving’s 41 points.  Those two teams play again on Wednesday in Cleveland and Waiters is expected to play, but in what capacity is unclear.   In his absence, C.J. Miles started at shooting guard.

Regardless of what happened in the meeting, the Cavs need to get some issues on both ends of the court figured out as they have started 4-7.  There were expected to be some growing pains with this young team under a new head coach, but for fans and the players, it has been more difficult than they expected.
