The San Diego Chargers had a rough day on Sunday, and wide receiver had a rougher day after injuring his knee on the first play to the fourth quarter. He suffered a right knee injury, forcing him to miss the Chargers’ two-minute drill as the team dropped a narrow 20-16 loss to the Miami Dolphins that may ultimately prevent them from making it to the NFL postseason.

The early belief was that Allen suffered a hyperextension of the same knee that in 2012, his final season with the California Bears, caused him to miss the end of his junior season with a knee injury. He showed no apparent limp when walking after the game.

During the Wednesday practice session, Allen was able to take to the field and should be good to go this weekend when the Chargers face the Chiefs in an AFC West clash.

Allen wasn’t much of a factor even before leaving, catching three passes for 45 yards on six targets, but has been a great weapon this year for Phillip Rivers. He’s now on pace for over 60 catches and over 1,000 receiving yards.
