Pau Gasol is probably the nicest guy in the NBA.
He constantly teams with UNICEF to provide aid to other countries who are in need, and travels the world to share love and his wealth with others. He has a foundation with his brother, and he is constantly helping out in not just his community, but around the world. He has won awards for his work, and you can’t help but respect him for that.
The recent tragedy in the Philippines has prompted the NBA and others to donate to their relief. Gasol is no different, and he is set to donate a nice chunk of change:
Kids in the #Philippines need help. Im pledging $1,000 per pt @ Friday's game. Will u pledge w me? http://t.co/Sz9oRu1tiq @UNICEFUSA #Haiyan

Gasol retweeted a few others:
@paugasol We will donate $10 for every point, rebound, block and assist you make this Friday. #Haiyan #Philippines #GoForAQuadrupleDouble

Every bit counts, thank you! RT @dougkeady: @paugasol $2 a point! I'm a college student so that's what I can do,

This is truly a fantastic act by Gasol, and here’s hoping that he will score 50 on Friday. Even if you don’t like the way Gasol plays on the court, this goes way above that. He has a heart for these things, and I hope that he raises a huge amount for the Philippines.
He has inspired me, and my girlfriend and I are going to pledge with him on Friday. Maybe Andrew Bogut will let him have a couple of easy ones.
If you’re interested in pledging, you can do so here.
