Not everybody on a Major League roster is safe when it comes to being traded, it’s a business.

It doesn’t matter if your name happens to be Prince Fielder, Adrian Gonzalez, Hanley Ramirez or whatever. If a team shows some serious interest in you and offers the right stuff to the organization you represent? Guess what, you’re gone.

It’s not always a bad thing, you could always get dealt to a team who is set to make a playoff run or you could get dumped off to a team like the Houston Astros.

That’s the only time I mention them by the way. Anyways, the Oakland Athletics went from being one of the worst teams in the league, to being one of the top teams in the league. With the help of the great Billy Beane, this club turned things around and let everybody know they’re a serious contender.

Little side note, if you haven’t seen ‘Moneyball’ yet please do so. Awesome movie.

Back to the subject. With Ervin Santana looking to get some big money for a somewhat decent season, the Kansas City Royals may be passing up on him. So when them possibly moving on from Santana after one season, the Royals are interested in lefty Brett Anderson according to Buster Olney on Twitter.

Anderson started five games last season and finished the year with a 1-4 record with 46 strike outs and a career high 6.04 ERA. Now with him having such a down hill season, this team could get him fairly cheap and possibly have a steal on their hands.

It’ll be interesting to see if talks continue on and who Kansas City would be willing to give up.
