Well now that the Texas Rangers and the Detroit Tigers have stolen the spotlight after their blockbuster trade, nothing anybody else pulls off will surprise me.

This is why the off-season happens to be my favorite time of the baseball calendar year. You never really know what’s going to happen unless teams have been talking for awhile and have already given you an idea of who will be dealt.

I was actually sitting at the park last night when the trade happened and I shouted which caused a few joggers who were going by to stop and stare at me. Yeah I got that excited about the trade and I’m not even a fan of either squads.

But now all that is done and over with, the next move up could possibly be David Freese.

According to Ken Rosenthal on Twitter, the St. Louis Cardinals have been contacted by the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim about third baseman David Freese.

Freese as we all know, is a former World Series MVP and has been thrown into the rumor mix for awhile now. Of course he’s going to be a target, even though he had a disappointing season offensively but teams know what he’s capable of doing with his bat when he’s on point.

No word on who could be packaged in the deal, but I wouldn’t be surprised if this is a way the Angels dump Mark Trumbo.
