Jacksonville Jaguars defensive back Will Blackmon has been assessed a fine of $21,000 for a blind side block on special teams against Cardinals defensive back Justin Bethel, according to a league spokesman.  The hit occurred in the Cardinals 27-14 win over the Jaguars in Jacksonville this past week.  The hit resulted in Bethel suffering a concussion, which has put his availability for the Cardinals game against the Indianapolis Colts in question.

Blackmon is a key special teams player that also contributes as a corner for the Jaguars.  He has been able to contribute 21 solo tackles, 1 sack, 2 tackles for loss, 9 pass deflections, and 1 interception, 2 forced fumbles, a recovery and a touchdown this season.

The Jaguars go on the road this week to take the worst record in the NFL, 1-9, to Houston play against the similarly awful Houston Texans and their 2-8 record in a battle for third place in the AFC South.

The Cardinals have been a surprising 6-4 so far this season, but get a real test when they face the Colts with a chance to make a move in the NFC West.  Their playoff chances are alive and well, but they are in a difficult situation with the San Francisco 49ers who are also 6-4, both behind the Seattle Seahawks who are 10-1.
