Redskins E.J. Biggers fined $21,000 for helmet to helmet hit on Eagles DeSean Jackson

Washington Redskins cornerback E.J. Biggers has been assessed a fine of $21,000 for a helmet to helmet hit against Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson, according to a league spokesman.  The hit happened in the Redskins 24-16 loss to the Eagles this past week.

The play was occured when Eagles quarterback Nick Foles hit Jackson on a 19 yard pass play in which Biggers made the hit that ended the play, which increased to 34 yards with a personal foul penalty.  The play moved the ball to the Eagles 11 to their 45.  Biggers plans to appeal the fine.  So far, Biggers has 14 tackles, 2 pass deflections and an interception this season.

The 3-7 Redskins prepare to host the San Francisco 49ers this week; a game that will be featured on ESPN as this week’s Monday night game.  The Eagles, who are leading the NFC East at this point with a 6-5 record are currently on their bye and preparing to take on the Arizona Cardinals at Lincoln Financial Field on the 1st of December.
