During the Denver Broncos big Week 11 win over the division rival Kansas City Chiefs, wide receiver Wes Welker took a big hit to the head. Welker left the game, but eventually returned, however he eventually had to leave the game again and never returned.

Welker was diagnosed with a concussion that has kept him out of practice this week and his status for this week’s big game against the New England Patriots is in jeopardy.

As it turns out, Welker is still awaiting medical clearance from an independent neurologist. Interim coach Jack Del Rio went on the radio Friday morning to let everyone know Welker is still awaiting the clearance.

There is still a strong belief that Welker will be able to receive clearance from a doctor in advance of Sunday’s big game, so there is still hope that he will be able to return.

If you are a Welker fantasy owner, continue to monitor the situation closely as Sunday approaches.
