The Arizona State Sun Devils are headed to the Pac-12 Championship game, thanks to a 38-33 win at the Rose Bowl in Los Angeles.

The win was by no means pretty, nearly giving up a 35-13 halftime lead. But the outcome of the game was simply beautiful for the Sun Devils, who clinched their first ever Pac-12 South title. The UCLA Bruins went down early but came out in the second half and made a comeback. Unfortunately for them, it came up short after they committed two holding penalties on their final drive that set up a first and 30 to-go situation.

Marion Grice had 167 total yards of offense for the Devils, while Taylor Kelly threw for 225 yards and ran for another 99 yards, scoring each way.

Meanwhile the Stanford Cardinal clinched their spot in the title game by beating the California Golden Bears in The Big Game and getting an early Christmas gift, courtesy Arizona.

The Wildcats beat up Oregon in Tucson, knocking the Ducks out of for good. The Ducks were very clear earlier in the week that they weren’t all that excited about a Rose Bowl berth because they wanted to be in a national championship game. They won’t have to worry about any BCS game now.

The Cardinal will take their shot at a second straight Pac-12 title, they beat UCLA last year in Palo Alto.
