The Vanderbilt Commodores went into Neyland Stadium tonight seeking their seventh win of the season against the rival Tennessee Volunteers. When these two get together, you can pretty much throw all the records out the window and everything forget everything you see “on paper.”

That was indeed the case tonight as the four-win Tennessee team gave Vanderbilt all they could handle right down to the wire. But, in the end, it was Vandy that had one last trick up their sleeve that was able to seal that seventh win for them.

With 16 seconds to go, Vanderbilt was on the Tennessee five-yard line, down 10-7, head coach James Franklin had a little something ready for the Vols’ defense.

Quarterback Patton Robinette actually faked the old Tim Tebow jump pass after stepping up into the pocket a few steps and then took off toward the right corner of the end zone for the game-winning score:

And with that, the Commodores got that seventh win and continue to make some strides in the SEC.
