The Detroit Lions have suffered back-to-back ugly loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, so they will be looking to rebound on Thursday when they take the field against the division rival Green Bay Packers for their traditional Thanksgiving Day game.

One of the players that is key to the Lions success is wide receiver Calvin Johnson, who has been dealing with a nagging knee injury the past few weeks.

With a short week and little time to prepare, Johnson is getting some rest for the second straight day as he sits out of the Lions Tuesday practice session.

Johnson was just one of three key players who were not practicing on Tuesday.

From Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press:

On Wednesday, Johnson will also likely take it easy in practice, but there is very little danger of him missing the team’s pivotal game that will keep them in the NFC playoff mix.
