The Detroit Lions are on short rest this week, as they prepare to take on the NFC North rival Green Bay Packers in their traditional Thanksgiving Day game. Short rest is never good for players that are looking to recover from injuries, so it came as no surprise that the Lions were holding Johnson out of practice on Monday and Tuesday as he attempts to rest his nagging knee injury.

While Johnson has missed the first two days of practice, he is expected to take the field on Wednesday in a limited basis and he does not imagine that his knee will be an issue during Thursday’s game despite the short time off.

Johnson said his knee is “getting better” and he doesn’t anticipate any issues, according to the Detroit Free Press, so the team’s fans and Megatron fantasy owners should be comfortable placing him in their line up and expecting big production.

There was never any real concern that Johnson would miss Thursday’s game and his comments all but confirm he will be available.
