The Green Bay Packers have  made official what we all expected all along. Newly signed Matt Flynn will start for the Green Bay Packers on Thursday against the Detroit Lions.

Flynn came in the game against the Minnesota Vikings this past Sunday and played well. He completed 21 of 36 passes for 218 yards and one touchdown. That gave him a quarterback rating of 74.5, which is fairly impressive given his brief time with the club since signing.

Flynn has a particularly strong history against the Lions with the Packers. During the final game of the 2011 season, Flynn completed 31 of 44 passes for 480 yards and six touchdowns. That was the breakout game that led to him getting a contract with the Seattle Seahawks before being beaten out by rookie Russell Wilson for the starting job.
