Coming into today’s Thanksgiving showdown between the Detroit Lions and the Green Bay Packers, we knew one thing. Lions running back Reggie Bush was not going to fumble, not just in this game, but anymore this season. We knew this because he told us that:

"“That just comes with me mentally, constantly reminding myself, all week throughout practice, of making sure I’m high and tight — whether I’m going through the hole or whether it’s after practice (and) I’m doing a couple extra drills. Just little things like that,” Bush told reporters this week, via ESPN.com. “Those are the things that will help me to make sure that doesn’t happen again. And it won’t happen again.”"

Reggie, you shouldn’t make promises you can’t keep.

It didn’t take long in this one for that promise to be broken, and it came courtesy of fellow USC Trojan Clay Matthews on the first drive of the first quarter as the Lions looked as if they were headed for the end zone:

I would probably hang my head, too, if I had a promise broken six days after I made it.
