Packers vs Lions: Joique Bell with a big play (GIF)
By Mike Dyce
The Green Bay Packers are taking on the Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving and are looking to battle it out for first place in the division. The Lions are the healthiest of the teams atop the NFC North division but have not been able to build a lead in the division. Last week they lost to the 2-8 Tampa Bay Buccaneers at home.
They’re looking to get back on the right track in their Thanksgiving Day game. The Lions got off to a big start on this drive. On first and ten from Green Bay’s 34 yard line they called up a play with a bit of trickery. They faked the end-around to Reggie Bush and quarterback Matthew Stafford threw a short screen pass to running back Joique Bell. He got some good blocks and was able to run 27 yards before finally being brought down at the seven yard line.
The Lions couldn’t take advantage of the field position though. They settled for a field goal instead of getting into the end zone.
