The Denver Broncos appear to be a wounded team as they prepare for their big Week 13 match up against the AFC West rival Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday, but they received some good news on Thursday when two key players returned to the practice field.

Starting running back Knowshon Moreno and starting cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie were both able to return to practice after sitting out on Wednesday with injuries that they suffered during the team’s Week 12 loss to the New England Patriots.

There is still some doubt that Moreno will be able to play on Sunday, and Moreno “seemed to have a light workload” his return to the field, according Mike Klis of the Denver Post.

With Moreno’s status in jeopardy, the team is preparing Monte Ball and Ronnie Hillman to handle the workload.

As for Rodgers-Cromartie, he is listed as “day-to-day.”

While Moreno and Rodgers-Cromartie are both questionable for Week 13, the biggest question mark for the team could be whether or not tight end Julius Thomas is able to go.
